Scott Moore for PV Town Council: Strong, Steady Leadership with a Track Record of Success
Dear Fellow Paradise Valley Resident:
As your former Vice Mayor and current Paradise Valley Town Council member, I’m excited to announce my run for re-election.
Born in Phoenix, my current home in Paradise Valley is just a couple miles away from where I grew up. I have raised my family in Paradise Valley and cherish our Town’s unique values.
To maintain our quality of life, it’s important to have strong and steady leadership. My proven and positive record in Town government and my eight years on the Town Council have provided me with a significant amount of perspective on the challenges our Town faces.
I began as a Town volunteer serving on the Board of Adjustment, followed by serving on the Planning Commission, and later as Vice Mayor. I’m a prior Board member of the Paradise Valley destination marketing organization Experience Scottsdale, as well as former Council Liaison for the Paradise Valley Arts Advisory Committee. I’m currently Council Liaison for the Paradise Valley HOA Committee and the Veterans Appreciation Vintage Car Show Committee.
My priorities hold true to our Town’s values:
· Fully support our police officers and first responders
· Uphold fiscal responsibility and a balanced budget
· Ensure only responsible building and re-development that meet our high standards and preserve our community’s unique residential character and natural beauty
· Continue to oppose any local property tax
I am proud to have the support of many of our Town’s most respected leaders, including:
Mayor Jerry Bien-Willner
Former Mayor Scott LeMarr
Former Mayor Vernon Parker
Former Mayor Kent Wick
Former Mayor Ed Winkler
Vice Mayor Mark Stanton (Candidate for Mayor)
Former Vice Mayor Anna Thomasson (Candidate for Mayor)
Councilmember Christine Labelle
Former Vice Mayor Dan Schweiker
Former Vice Mayor David Sherf
Former Vice Mayor Jini Simpson
Planning Commissioner Bill Nassikas
Former Planning Commission Chair Jim Rose
Board of Adjustment Chair Hope Ozer
I look forward to working with my colleagues to provide steady, solid leadership. My experience over the past decade in public service has helped prepare me to serve the Town. I ask for your vote, and if re-elected I will continue to make comprehensive decisions that are consistent with our Town’s unique quality of life and values.
I have an open-door policy with residents and thank all those who have reached out to me. I welcome the opportunity to continue hearing from all of you about any issue that may be affecting your quality of life in Paradise Valley. Please feel free to contact me at smoore@paradisevalleyaz.gov.
My Vision for Paradise Valley
As a Council member I enjoy working with the Mayor and my fellow Council Members and I pledge to remain consistent and true to our Town’s mission by:
Continuing to focus on public safety and the sustainability of our pension plans for our police officers
Upholding fiscal responsibility for capital improvement projects and ensuring a sustainable balanced budget
Managing responsible growth throughout the Town, including our hillside developments, to ensure we preserve the unique residential character of our community
Opposing any local property tax
Fight for local control over short-term rental properties
My 30-year career in municipal planning and commercial real estate has given me the experience and insight that I am able to utilize today as your Town Council Member. My experience includes:
Planning, designing and developing large municipal projects including water treatment facilities, wastewater treatment plants, arterial roads and major infrastructure.
Finding creative ways to mitigate traffic challenges and improve quality of life
Drafting intergovernmental agreements and municipal development agreements that are fiscally responsible
