Supporting Paradise Valley’s Fiscal Lifeblood

Dear Fellow Paradise Valley Resident:

Paradise Valley's resorts are an important part of our community's character, and they are key to our community's fiscal well-being.

I've worked hard while on Town Council to balance the importance of our resort industry with the need to promote responsible development. I haven't always seen eye to eye with some resort owners and operators on some issues. But there's no denying the positive impact they have on our community.

I will be working to take a lead role on the Town Council in efforts to support our resorts in the coming days. Some initial efforts include:

Temporarily relaxing Town ordinances to allow businesses to put banner signage out front, so that they can update potential patrons on their business status during the COVID-19 crisis.

• Supporting an expedited application by the owners of the Sanctuary Resort to expand their pool deck to better promote social distancing.

These are two smaller items, but they are part of a larger need to support the resort industry in this challenging time. One way you can help — when you are ready and comfortable, please consider a staycation here in Paradise Valley, instead of a vacation out of town. Or, visit their socially distanced dining rooms for a fantastic meal.

I welcome the opportunity to continue hearing from all of you about any ideas you may have to help ensure Paradise Valley remains an exceptional place to live, work and play despite these difficult times. Yours very truly,

Councilmember Scott Moore
